If the unit is in constant use, we recommend the following maintenance schedule for your device filters:

  • Pre Filter: replace every 6 months
  • Main Filter: replace every 9–12 months
  • High Energy Grid (HEG): clean once per year or during filter changes, depending on the level of contamination
  • Post Filter (optional): replace every 6 months

How

Before any maintenance is performed on your air purification unit, disconnect it from the power source and wait 30 seconds after turning the unit off before opening the filter access door.

All filter and unit maintenance instructions are also detailed with accompanying images to guide you through these processes in the user manual that came with your unit.

Follow the steps below to remove and replace the Pre-Filter:

  1. Lock the (2) front wheels by pushing down on the rubber stopper attached to each front wheel.
  2. Remove the filter access door by turning each of the (4) latches a quarter turn in the unlocking direction. The filter access door may require a firm pull towards you to release.
  3. Slide the Pre-Filter out of the filter channel away from the unit.
  4. To install a Pre-Filter replacement, install the new Pre-Filter into the channel in accordance with the direction of the air flow label.
  5. Ensure the Pre-Filter is firmly seated. The unit will not turn on if the Pre-Filter is installed incorrectly.
  6. Re-install the filter access door to the unit, being careful to position the threaded pin on the door into the hole of the control panel on the unit. This will activate the safety switch. The unit will not operate unless the safety switch has been activated.

Follow the steps below to remove and replace the Main Filter:

  1. Lock the (2) front wheels by pushing down on the rubber stopper attached to each front wheel.
  2. Remove the filter access door by turning each of the (4) latches a quarter turn in the unlocking direction. To release, the filter access door may require a firm pull towards you.
  3. Disconnect the red wire High Voltage Lead from the multiplier.
  4. Using a flathead screwdriver, turn the lock cylinder in accordance with the labeled direction to unlock the Main Filter assembly.
  5. Pull the Main Filter and HEG assembly firmly towards you to remove it from the filter access opening.
  6. Separate the HEG from the Main Filter by turning and unlocking the (3) panel clips located underneath the assembly.

Follow the steps below to clean the HEG of the 950P unit internally. Depending on the level of contamination, this procedure should be conducted once a year, during each filter change or if an electrical problem occurs:

  1. Follow the above instructions (Steps 1–5) to remove the filter access door, Main Filter and HEG assembly from the filter access opening in order to gain access to the inside of the unit.
  2. To clean the now exposed wires, use a lint-free swab (either dry or moistened with denatured alcohol). Clean along the length of each wire and spring clips.
  3. Clean the inner surfaces of the HEG material using a lint cloth moistened with denatured alcohol. You may also vacuum between the wires using a small vacuum attachment.
  4. When cleaning, take care to avoid leaving behind any contaminants or large fibers snagged on the wires, control grid, or other components of the HEG.
  5. Vacuum to remove any contaminants or particles dislodged during the cleaning process.
  6. Follow the steps to reinstall the HEG, Main Filter assembly and filter access door as previously instructed. Do not reconnect the red wire High Voltage Lead to the multiplier until the wires are completely dry.

It is recommended that the manufacturer be contacted for detailed instructions should any deep cleaning appear necessary.
